Corneal Ring Implants - Bad idea...

Hey, here is a bright idea! I have Kerateconis in my right eye, there is an "experimental" treatment where they laser the eye and insert two rings to flat'en out the cornea and there is a pretty good chance it will improve the vision. Minor proceedure, no worries. Well let me tell you, it was three days and nights of utter pain! Like having glass in your eye and there is nothing you can do about it, it hurt worse to close the eye so there was no where to go but sufferville. It looked like someone shot my eye out with a bee bee gun. Funny thing is, I had to take my lens out of my glasses and you couldn't tell for months. Bad news is, the proceedure did not give me perfect vision, just "different" vision. So I now have a new prescription and a very light sensative right eye. The surgeon wanted to do the same proceedure on the left eye, yeah right buddy, not while I am living. Moral of the story, there is no such thing as a "simple proceedure" or a "sure thing" in this world, only pain and misery haha.

Oh, the pain! Eye Surgery
